The Systemic Lands
Chapter LIV – Day 802 – The High Priestess

“Where is she?” I asked the man.

“I don’t know-“ I twitched my hand and threw him away. His head and body separated from each other. Creating a gory display to add to the countless others while I looked for the Avatar. If she wasn’t going to show up herself, then I would kill every one of her people.

I paused as I felt a convergence of energy behind me. I turned around and saw a golden orb forming in the air. I focused on trying to back trace the skill the Avatar was using, but it was subtle, very subtle.

Divine Empress, I am no long there,” the Avatar’s voice echoed in my mind. I allowed it. It was a minor trick that I already knew how to replicate. It was no threat to me except a distraction.

“Avatar. Where is my son?” I asked. That was what mattered. I needed to find Qi Ji Long no matter what. The Avatar ability to see far and wide was too useful to disregard. I had learned many things from her. She had one last task to complete for me.

Not here,” she replied. I frowned at this. I was killing her people, her cities. To say such a thing was pointless. The fact she disappeared from her prison pit the same day my son was kidnapped was no coincidence. Her airships showing up at exactly the right time to get away. What did she take me for, a fool?

“Not here? And do you expect me to believe you did not have a hand in his disappearance? The breaking of my capital and the Dragon Empire was not planned by you? I am many things, but I am no fool,” I said with annoyance. My eyes and my senses were working quickly to deduce her location. I had a general direction, but I needed a distance. I just needed to keep her speaking and then I would find and kill her.

I know. I won’t deny my role. But your child was taken by Champion Michael at my request. Now he is hidden away. Just find the man and you will have your answers,” the golden light disappeared. I frowned heavily at what had been told to me. I had seen the direction of the connection before she had cut her call, to the East.

She was leading me on, and it was clear she was plotting something. I smiled slightly at that. You wanted to plot and plan a trap against me? The Divine Empress? That was amusing.

I considered what I should do. “Die!” Four men rushed at me. They unleashed Fire Beams at me. It was impressive coordination, but I had known they were approaching for a while. I moved and a moment later there were four more headless corpses to add to the countless numbers already in this city.

Weakness. Total and utter weakness. The Avatar was leading me by the nose and clearly wanted me to go find and confront this Champion Michael. While he had caused a lot of issues, I had not thought he had such a crucial role.

The man had been weak, but he had stolen my treasury. The billions of points contained inside of it. Perhaps he did have the stats and skills to be so bold. I slapped my hand on a building, causing the wall to implode, crushing two people that had been hiding inside the building. I would spare no one anymore.

If I saw them, they would die, no matter what. Even the Avatar. I had committed myself to killing her, no matter the consequence. I would take whatever punishment the Heavens saw fit to inflict on me, but there would be no more mercy.

I had been far too kind in the past. Letting her live and suffer after removing her limbs, tongue, and eyes. Even that was far too nice. Instead, I would unleash death and destruction. If they thought they could stand against the dragon, let them come. I would crush them all with my Dragons Talon.

Walking through the city, I killed person after person who thought they could hide. It was pointless in the face of my abilities. Breathing in the air, it was weak, but enough to refresh myself slightly. I would be destroying the Avatar’s other city before going to find her and Champion Michael.

It did not stop the wound in my heart, but it made me feel better as I toppled the Airship Port. It slammed into the ground with a huge boom. Dust and debris rose up into the sky. I shook my hand a bit. That had taken three focused strikes. It was decent, but I should have been able to do it in one.

A couple of beam attacks came at me. I put up a barrier stopping the attacks and threw some needles. The force explosions killing the mages at the other end of the attacks. “Worms, nothing but worms and dogs,” I said with disgust while looking around me.

I made my way over to a group of wounded survivors. “Please! Please, spare us!” They said things in other languages, but I didn’t care. Their headless corpses were all that was left in my wake. There useless words had no effect on me.

I had made up my mind. Once I was done clearing this city, I would move onto the other city controlled by the Avatar and teach them the cost of defying me in any way. Killing all that I could find. If the Avatar wanted to have a nation, she could have one made of rubble.

It did not escape my notice, she had not specifically said where my son was. She obviously could, but she clearly wanted me to kill this, Champion Michael. A rival of hers? It did not matter in the end. He had defied me as well and would die.

But I would torture him first. Break his spirit, so I could fully know where my son was hidden. Anyone would talk once their limbs began to get removed. Even the Avatar had talked. She hid behind her rules far more than there actually were. It was amusing to work out the limits of her power. Still, she had used up her usefulness and was back to her old trickery.

That was why I would kill her no matter what. I had been unsure before, but this conversation made it clear to me that she was a troublemaker of the highest order. I would toss her into the void. It would be interesting to see if the Heavens truly protected her.

If they saved her, then I would just kill her after that with my Dragons Talon. While she was physically weak and crippled, I did respect her enough to give her such an honored death if she survived getting tossed into the void. Crushing her heart with my hand would bring me much satisfaction.

Looking around, everyone was dead. Oh wait, there was a person hiding under a corpse. How clever, like a worm. I walked over and could smell the scent of urine. I flicked my hand. The corpse on top of the person slammed downwards crushing them under their companion.

A fitting way for a worm to die. I slowly turned around. That was everyone I see or sense. Well, no matter, every building had been wrecked in my path. I kicked off the ground to make my way to the other city controlled by the Avatar. She hurt me, I was going to hurt her back.

I smiled slightly as I saw a group of people running for the exit from the city. I quickly came up behind them. One strike person easily separated them from their heads. I was quickly past the group as their lives faded out behind me. There was no escaping me once I laid my eyes on you and decided you were dead. No one had the power to stand up to me. They were all going to die now.
