Chapter 3 - Xiao Yu

At Binhai People’s Hospital.

Chen Mo opened his eyes slowly; he was on a hospital bed. His eyes were cloudy.

‘Was everything just a dream?’

Chen Mo felt a slight pain in his head. He found that there seemed to be an extra memory in his mind, which was the information regarding “Low level human potential development technology.”

‘Was the Science and Technology Library real?’

Chen Mo closed his eyes again.

The hundred-meter high gate appeared before him again. The white light submerged him and Chen Mo appeared in the familiar library once again.

He couldn’t see the end of the bookshelves.

‘It’s not a dream!’

Chen Mo’s face brightened as he once again left the Science and Technology Library.

The smell of disinfectant greeted his nose, and Chen Mo turned to look around the room.

He was in a ward. The pain in his head flared up again, it was only after touching and exploring his head that Chen Mo found an extra bulge on it. After a small press, Chen Mo was in so much pain that he sucked in a cold breath.

Suddenly, Chen Mo noticed a heavy feeling coming from his right hand. Looking at his arm, he found a girl lying across it, sleeping.

The girl from the library?

Chen Mo realized at a glance that she was the girl who he rushed to save in the library.

He didn’t dare to move his arm so he instead let the girl stay there for fear of waking her up. As he looked at the girl’s sleeping figure,  a little flutter rose up in his heart.

After a long time had passed, Chen Mo felt a small movement coming from his arm. Looking down at his arm he saw that the girl was also looking up at him.

“You’re awake.” The girl quickly let go of Chen Mo’s arm and a little blush appeared on her face.

“Um.” Chen Mo smiled and nodded. “How long have I been in a coma?”

“Nearly three days or so, the doctor said that you had a slight concussion but that there shouldn’t be any complications. Thank you for saving me in the library.”

“No need to thank me.”

Chen Mo carefully looked at the girl’s tired face and felt a little sad as he asked, “You have been here to take care of me these past three days?”

“Well..” The girl nodded shyly. “Your teacher also came to see you. The doctor said you should wake up in a couple days, so I didn’t inform your family so that they wouldn’t worry about you. So they let me take care of you.”

“Thank you.” Chen Mo’s eyes softened.

“It’s the least I could do. You’ve saved me once,” the girl said, “My name is Xiao Yu. You can call me Xiao.”

“My name is Chen Mo.”

Two people, four eyes looked back at each other, Xiao Yu’s cheek became rosy as time passed as she was at a loss of what to do.

Growling…

The voice of a belly in protest broke the delicate atmosphere. Xiao Yu chuckled and Chen Mo’s face turned red as he felt a little embarrassed.

“You’ve been drinking glucose for two days. You haven’t eaten anything. Let me buy you something to eat.” Xiao Yu got up and left.

Chen Mo looked at his disheartened stomach with a bit of exasperation as he thought, ‘If you(stomach) spoke up late you wouldn’t die! Why did you decide to pipe up at that exact moment?’

“I’ll feed you.”

Xiao Yu picked up the spoon and brought it to Chen Mo’s mouth. Her gentle movements would make a person feel like they were watching a girlfriend take care of her boyfriend, stirring up all sorts of jealousy in others.

Chen Mo’s heart was full of joy as he didn’t expect such treatment.

This was the first time she was taking care of someone from the opposite sex, and it had been for three days in a row. She had cleaned his body and massaged him by herself, so she was truly exhausted.

The nurses all thought the two of them had to be siblings or something.

But the reality of the situation was that Chen Mo saved her and his family hadn’t come. She was the only one to take care of him. As she thought about the past three days when she touched Chen Mo’s body. Xiao Yu didn’t dare to look at him directly in his eyes.

After feeding Chen Mo the porridge, Xiao Yu took out a pile of red notes from her bag and gave it to him.

From Xiao Yu’s reaction just now, he knew that there was a chance. It had been a long time since anyone had made him feel this way.

The hero saved the beauty but also secured the beauty’s favor. The old and classical cliche happened to him.

After being happy, Chen Mo laid back in bed and thought thoroughly about the development of human potential.

That afternoon, Xiao Yu arrived as promised.

Chen Mo had also recovered. After having his body checked again he was told that there were no problems in the test results. Then he went through the formalities and left the hospital.

“Let’s have a meal. I haven’t eaten for three days, so I will spoil myself. ” Chen Mo felt his stomach and said.

“I’ll treat you. It’s a small reward for you saving me.” Xiao Yu stood beside Chen Mo with a shy expression. She felt emotionally drained  when she thought of the scene of taking care of Chen Mo these past few days.

“No, I’ll treat you. Thank you for taking care of me for the past three days.” Chen Mo took out the money. “That girl’s compensation is a little bit more than needed. Chen Mo smiled, but he still had to go even if she said no.

Shu Lao said that after he read 100 science and engineering books, he could take another technology. He had to learn so that he could properly advance and get a higher authority level.

“OK, I’ll go over at eight in the morning. You just left the hospital today so make sure to go to sleep earlier.”

In the girls dormitory, Xiao Yu put down her mobile phone, her eyes filled with shyness but her mouth was also tilted a little bit due to joy. All of a sudden, the mobile phone in her hand was seized and a face with a wry smile stretched out in front of Xiao Yu.
