Rise of Myriad Magic Emperor
Chapter 78: Academy Entrance Exam (Third Part)

It had already been two hours and only 30 magic users and 10 fighters had been able to pass the exam among the 754 tested until now.

The atmosphere in the room had turned heavy. Everyone was nervous and scared of not being able to pass the exam, but even in these conditions, Kai could find people who were still calm and confident.

"Next."

"Looks like it's finally my turn. I've become bored with all this waiting." Fatty Yuna Sarvis gave his ticket to David and touched the orbs one after the other with a confident smile on his face.

Body potential: Heaven rank

Mage root: Earth rank

Magic power purity: 8th grade.

Seeing the results, the fatty smiled and stood with the candidate pass as if it was a natural occurrence.

"Next!" shouted David.

The figure of a thin, handsome blond man holding a sword appeared. It was Fredrick Thenardier, and he gave his ticket to David and walked towards the orbs, touching them, and then to the drums.

Standing before the drum, Fredrick took a deep breath and, as he exhaled, punched the drum with all his might. The thunderous sound of the drum resonated throughout the room, forcing people to cover their ears to prevent damage.

Body potential: Saint rank

Magic power purity: 7th grade

Strength: 9th grade

Seeing the results, David's eyes shone while he looked at Fredrick like a treasure and thought, "Looks like we have just found a gem if he passes the next test. We could have a strong addition to our fighter side. It would be a waste if he doesn't become a Battle Mage in the future."

Seeing the results, Fredrick walked towards the stairs where others were waiting.

"Next."

"Oh! It looked like it's finally my turn." Kai smiled and gave his ticket to David and walked to the orbs and touched them. Then, he walked to the drum and he heard the sound of David coughing.

"Cough... Cough... No need to test your strength. This drum is not made to test the strength of a Battle Mage, it's beyond its capacity."

Listening to David's words, Kai stopped and waited for the result.

Body potential: Saint rank

Mage root: Saint rank

Magic power purity: 10th grade

Kai smiled when looking at the results, "Looks like this test system can't measure my real status. This is its limit."

He walked towards the people who had passed and stood there silently while everyone looked at him as if they were looking at a freak.

David was also astonished. "Such talent and foundation. This... this... a million-year talent in my branch. First was that Fredrick and now this Kai. A 17-year-old Battle Mage, such talent. Why haven't they been discovered during their initial potential testing?"

David tried to calm himself down and continued the exam.

"Next."

The first round of testing continued for another hour before it finally concluded.

Only 63 magic users and 37 fighters were left, excluding Kai, out of the more than a thousand participants.

"Congratulations on passing the first test. Now, we will start the second examination, which will test your knowledge and foundation as magic users and fighters and will take place on the first floor. However, I will not be accompanying you guys for it.

After you reach the first floor, you will see two paths. The right is for magic users while left is for fighters. No matter what you guys experience during the exam, just remember one thing. You are your greatest enemy. Only by overcoming your current self, can you go beyond," said David with a strict expression when he looked at everyone and nodded.

"Looks like everyone understood. Now, let's begin the second round." Read Web Novels Online Free - NovelFire Novel Fire - novelfire.net

One by one, everyone left and only Kai, David and the helpers stayed behind.Seeing this, David smiled and pat Kai's left shoulder. "Let's go to the second floor. It will take some time before anyone passes this round."

Kai nodded and they teleported directly to the second floor.

When they arrived, Kai looked around.

The second floor was an open space with no roof. Above his head was just a blue sky with the sun shining on him.

There were many tables there with four chairs, and the atmosphere was silent, with a gentle cold breeze.

"Come here, Kai," David pointed at the chair across him.

Kai nodded and sat on the chair.

"Congratulations on passing the test and officially becoming a student of Chronos Magic Academy," said David.

"Thank you, sir David.

"David smiled. "You are different from the others as you are going to directly enter the advanced courses. You must know some things that are common knowledge in the academy.

Classes start every day at 10:00 am and end at 3:00 pm. It's up to you if you want to attend them or not, but you have to pay 1000 gold every month as a tuition fee or can pay with contribution points.

One contribution point is equal to 100 gold. If you want to convert them into gold, you just have to go to the academy's currency exchange center, but remember, you can't change gold into contribution points.

To earn these points, one has to complete various quests offered by the academy, and they are used for everything in the academy, from buying food to buying resources.

Second, personal fights are not allowed in the academy. If you want to fight, you will have to inform the teacher in charge, and if both parties agree, the fight will be held in the battle arena.

Third, there are customs and traditions in the academy. You must never break nor question them. If you do so, the academy could kick you out at any time.

And finally, hehehehehe... According to tradition, you will be living in the advanced courses' student hostel and will be sharing a room, so be gentle with your roommate, as today will be the first night you will be sharing rooms," he said while having a mysterious smile with a deeper meaning hidden within it.

"Anyways, I am the teacher in charge of you and teach classes on magic power control. If you face any problems in the academy, just tell me. The other things you'll know since you will live in the Academy."

Just like that, they started talking and discussing different topics. Time passed by and the blue sky turned red. The sun could be seen on the horizon.

"Oh! Kai, so you are Yami's grandson? No wonder you are so talented," David said surprised. "Such knowledge and deep understanding of the magic path at such a young age. Yami is really lucky to have a grandson like you."

"Sir, do you know my grandfather?" asked Kai.

"Hehehe. We used to be best buddies. I will never forget how that bastard who used to borrow contribution points from me to buy cultivation resources and use them to buy gifts for your grandmother." While speaking about Yami, David had a gentle bright smile on his face.

"I was born in an ordinary farmer family in the Chaos Empire, but I was able to join the academy and meet Yami, Ellen, senior sister Ersa and Julis. Even though I was from a common background, they never looked down on me.

Those were the golden days of our Battle Mage branch, with your grandfather and elder sister Ersa leading us, and crushing those prideful and arrogant Magic users. However, time spares no one.

Elder sister Ersa had to leave the academy due to her father's death and to become the ruler of the Oman Empire. Yami and Ellen also left after graduation, and our branch started to become weaker day by day.

Sometimes I wished I could go back to those days and return to my youthful self." He looked at the sky with a lonely expression on his face.

"But with you, maybe our branch can rise again. Eleven years ago, the magic branch recruited a million-year talent that broke through to the Magic Warrior realm just a month ago.

Possessing great beauty and pride, she is titled as the queen of the magic branch. She has many pursuers, but no one can meet her standards. There are even rumours that she hates men.

However, with you here, we can finally stand up to the magic user branch." David looked at Kai.

Kai was a bit troubled and thought, "Old man, I just want to meet the headmaster and find a solution to my problem. I have no time for these things. On top of that, I am also a magic user," but he couldn't tell this to David.

Kai sighed and took a deep breath. "Don't worry, sir, it will be done."

"Is this what people call digging your own grave?" Kai could only laugh bitterly.

Just as Kai and David finished talking, a helper informed them that the second round was finished, to which David nodded and one by one people appeared.Kai also looked at them. "These guys don't have any external or internal injuries, nor any signs of fighting, but they are all physically and mentally tired.

"Only 16 passed out of the 100, 6 magic users and 10 fighters. ɪꜰ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs, ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ ᴠɪsɪᴛ No(ᴠ)ᴇlFire.nᴇt

Clapping his hands, David welcomed them with a bright smile.

"Congratulations on passing the entrance examinations! From this day onwards, you are students of Chronos Magic Academy. Rest for now and I will explain the rules and regulations of the academy later."

Everyone finally relaxed as they heard that, falling to the ground from tiredness.

Nearly an hour later, everyone regained enough strength to at least walk and listened to David's explanation.

"I hope you guys understood the rules and regulations I just explained."

Everyone nodded.

"Open!" David shouted and two golden rods raised from the ground and a teleportation gate appeared before them.

"On the other end is Chronos Magic Academy. You will get registered there, and will be allocated to your classes and the rooms where you will be staying in."

Hearing that, everyone entered one by one the teleportation gate. After everyone was through, the gate closed and the golden rods disappeared back into the floor.
