Immortal of the Ages
Chapter 345: Cunning Fox

Throughout the ordeal, Yun Xiao only threw a single head into the fray. It seemed like he did hardly anything, yet he caused the Calamity Seal Purgatory and Leviathan Ravine to lose two peak powerhouses in the Genesis Spirit Realm. And in the Leviathan Ravine, even their Hell Warden met his demise in the Immortal Asylum!

Such an event was unheard of in history...

The four-person delegation of the Immortal Asylum now loomed over the other eight hells like a dark cloud.

"Let's head back to the Radiance Palace," Yun Xiao said with a smile to Mo Jianzhi, then turned and left as if nothing had happened.

"Does Exile Yun need…" The Sword Warden started to offer his personal protection, but before he could finish, Yun Xiao left him with a simple, "No need."

"Understood." The Sword Warden nodded, already seeing Yun Xiao as a leader.

"Dad, was Exile Yun so sure that the Immortal Asylum was strong and would intervene?" Mu Dalong asked in a low voice, her eyes filled with admiration.

"Nonsense. His foresight surpasses ours. He can seize the initiative," the Sword Warden remarked thoughtfully.

"But what if the Immortal Asylum hadn't intervened just now? Wouldn't we have been in danger?" Mu Dalong remembered the scene, still feeling a bit scared. It was 8,000 vs 1,000—a death sentence no matter how you sliced it!

"You don't understand," the Sword Warden said with a cold smile. "The alliance between the Talisman Emperor and the Wick Devil is above everyone. They led the seven hells against Yun Xiao. But the more terrifying Yun Xiao's abilities appear, the more some will fear him. Like the merfolk of the Reverie Abyss... When the real fight begins, who will truly exert themselves? That's always uncertain."

"I see," Mu Dalong nodded. She glanced across the way. Clearly, after the suppression by the Immortal Asylum, the other hells were chilled to the bone, each harboring their own thoughts and standing on different grounds.

"So, the only opportunity left for the Talisman Emperor and the Wick Devil to kill Exile Yun is in the upcoming second round?" Mu Dalong asked coldly.

"The Immortal Asylum emphasizes rules, but the Talisman Emperor and the Wick Devil are not the types to sit idly by. Stay vigilant," the Sword Warden cautioned gravely.

"Yes!" Mu Dalong nodded.

"Let's patch you up first," the Sword Warden said, looking at her tenderly. "This time... you were lucky to escape with your life."

"It wasn't so bad. I always had this feeling that Exile Yun wouldn't let those loyal to him die, so I wasn't afraid," Mu Dalong said, her eyes warming.

"You trust him that much?" the Sword Warden asked softly. "So, how did he slay Qingzan? Isn't she in the Perfect Heaven Sanctuary Realm?"

"Dad, that's a secret," Mu Dalong suddenly said with a playful smile.

"You child…" The Sword Warden couldn't help but smile through his tears. He stroked his long beard, gazing in the direction of the Calamity Seal Purgatory, and remarked with a sigh, “Today was truly exhilarating.”

“Why is that?”

“I’ve always despised two women the most; one is Qingzan, and the other is that despicable old hag Fu Liuli. Today, both met more miserable ends than the other. How could that not be exhilarating?!” The Sword Warden clenched his fist, his face a mix of dark satisfaction. “The ancestors were right, trust in Exile Yun for eternal life.”

"..." Mu Dalong remained silent. She found that ever since Yun Xiao, showed up, even her father seemed to have gotten more immature.

Meanwhile, the Fate Ocean Battle Royale continued, and the battles in the Eight Trigrams arena raged on.

Apart from the Sword Cultivators withdrawing from the fight, the seven hells continued to show no mercy in their alliance, fiercely competing for the title of Nine Hells Conqueror.

No one was willing to back down!

As time passed, more and more people retreated to their respective guest palaces to rest.

After the Immortal Asylum’s censure, there were no more assassination incidents in the guest palace.

In the Shake Palace, this was the resting place of the Primeval Demon Hell, ranked fifth among the hells.

Deep within one of the chambers, after a bout of passionate encounters, the atmosphere was filled with the energy of spring.

After the storm, the enchanting and majestic Empress of the Azure Phoenixes leaned back on a recliner, modestly covering herself with just an azure feather fan, radiating beauty.

Her complexion was flushed, alluring and charming. Despite appearing delicate, her body resonated with earth-shattering power.

In her imposing embrace lay a silver-haired young man, controlled like a child, unable to move, his face flushed red.

It couldn't be helped. This was a woman who had been an Empress her whole life, always dominating any situation. Moon Fairy, who was supposedly tasting the joys of life, was actually getting eaten by the Phoenix Empress.

“You little rascal,” she whispered into his ear, her hot breath tickling him, her eyebrows raised playfully. “You’re quite the sly one, aren’t you?”

“Huh?” Moon Fairy looked up, his gaze traveling over the lofty barrier to her chin and nose.

“It was the Talisman Emperor who was still considering, but it was you who lit the fuse, leading to the deaths of Fu Liuli and the Sea Dragon Emperor, causing the demise of a thousand in the Fate Ocean Realm,” the Phoenix Empress chided, pinching his cheek with a slight frown.

“It’s a misunderstanding! Who could have guessed that the four-person delegation of the Immortal Asylum was so strong? If I had rushed in, I surely would have perished too,” Moon Fairy nestled beside her, speaking softly.

“Stop pretending in front of me,” the Phoenix Empress said, half laughing, half crying. She grabbed Moon Fairy's fox ear tightly, her tone serious. “Confess and it'll be easier on you. You come from the Heavenly Land, and so does Yun Xiao. You two are clearly in cahoots, tricking everyone here.”

Moon Fairy was momentarily stunned, then a glint flashed in his eyes as he said, “You guessed it, you’re really smart.”

“A fox is always cunning!” The Phoenix Empress glared at him. “Now that you’ve confessed, let’s get straight to the point. Do you want my Primeval Demon Hell to protect Yun Xiao?”

“Yes,” Moon Fairy nodded.

“Silly boy, do you not know of the enmity between Sword Cultivators and demons?” she said.

“I do,” he replied.

“How can this grudge be resolved? How can we possibly protect our enemy and let him grow strong enough to annihilate our race?” The Phoenix Empress’s eyes filled with a touch of sorrow. “Little fox, I quite like you. If it were someone else saying the same thing, I’d have twisted his head off by now.”

“But even if you oppose him, do you think you can stop his rise?” Moon Fairy asked solemnly.

The Phoenix Empress fell silent.

After a long while, she shook her head. “Before the assassination attempt, I still had hope. But now, I feel despair. That guy is a freak; he has something about him that even you can’t match.”

“You’re quite frank,” Moon Fairy whispered into her ear. “So you should understand this: opposing him means extinction, but supporting him at least lets us live on. After all, if the Sword Cultivators rise, the Leviathan Ravine will bear the brunt first.”

“That’s a tough pill to swallow,” she said coldly.

“That’s reality,” he replied.

The Phoenix Empress looked at him deeply. “I thought you were the hope for the rise of our Primeval Demon Hell. Turns out you’re his spokesperson?”

“Regretting it?” he asked.

“Having cultivated for so many years, I haven't found a land demon that caught my eye. Your arrival was just what I needed, so no regrets.” She sighed softly. “It’s just a pity. The hope of our demon race turns out to be someone else’s underling.”

Moon Fairy laughed for a while at this. After his laughter subsided, he calmly said, “Don’t worry, he and I are equals. The Nine Hells are our common goal. To achieve it, the Calamity Seal Purgatory and the Rising Sun Inferno are our real enemies.”

“Really equals?” she asked, concerned about this point.

“Indeed… it's just that he tends to be more dramatic, while I, on the other hand, am much purer,” Moon Fairy claimed.

“You pure? With all your tricks, you're definitely no saint!” the Phoenix Empress snorted, still irked by the thought.

She had really lost out on this deal!

“Speaking of which, you and Yun Xiao, don’t have some weird relationship, do you?” she asked, suddenly feeling a chill at the thought.

"What do you mean by weird relationship?"

"You know, man on top, with another man…"

"Have you gone senile? Such wild thoughts?" Moon Fairy said, exasperated.

"You never know. You do look a lot like a girl." The Phoenix Empress laughed, then her gaze drifted downward, unable to help but remark, "Such a fine fox…"

"I don't have time for this nonsense." Moon Fairy extended his hand to her. "Now that we're being honest, let's establish this alliance. Give me some startup funds."

"What startup funds?" The Phoenix Empress suddenly had a bad feeling.

"Making friends costs money," Moon Fairy explained.

"You?" She looked at the little fox, half laughing, half crying. This was like keeping a pricey pet fox—last time he wanted resources, now he wanted money!

"With the Nine Hells in flux, if you don’t want to fall behind, you need to invest," he said bluntly.

"How much?" she asked, biting her lip.

"100 million Immortal Jades!" Moon Fairy said, not batting an eye.

The Phoenix Empress nearly choked. She looked at him incredulously. "Do you even realize how much that is?"

"Of course. You’re the only one who can afford it," he said.

"You’re asking for the moon!" she snapped.

"Stop dithering. Either pay up or I'll find another wealthy patron," he said.

"..." The Phoenix Empress was speechless. What in the world was this creature?

"If you weren’t so good-looking, I’d tear that mouth of yours," she said coldly.

"Enough chit-chat, goodbye!" Moon Fairy got up to leave. Sᴇaʀch* Thᴇ ɴøᴠel Fɪre.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of nøvels early and in the highest quality.

"What now?" he asked.

"You want 100 million Immortal Jades? Make it worth my while first!" she declared.

"..." Now, it was Moon Fairy's turn to be speechless. Ah well, he might as well consider repaying a debt to his main body. He coughed and said, "Let's get one thing straight—payment upfront."
