Harry Potter: The Ring Maker
Chapter 89: Twin fear rings

Tracy huffed upset at her many losses despite Nicks words but she didn't continue to complain about her bad luck. Dinner was an interesting affair as Nick ordered something totally new as far as everyone was concerned. It was a large bowl filled with rich fish broth , spring onions , a few slices of eel(not that they knew) and a bunch of noodles with two pieces of seaweed on the side. Despite the rich foods around them the other students around Nick couldn't help but be attracted to his meal. Dumbledore had of course also ordered a bowl of the stuff for himself having found that Nick had good taste in food in the past.-

It started to spread once the curiosity grew too much and more and more people started to ask for a bowl of the stuff. Mcgonagall and surprisingly Snape also ordered a bowl after seeing how much the headmaster seemed to enjoy the dish. Many found themselves delighted by the savory and flavorful dish that had graced their palates. It was on this night that many at Hogwarts would recall as the night that ramen was introduced to the british wizarding community.-

"Where do you keep pulling these amazing ideas from?" Ron asked after dinner was over. Nick looked shrugged "You know I didn't invent this dish right?" he said honestly. "Really? Who did then , they must be geniuses." Ron inquired excitedly. "It's a bit of a debated topic really but most assume it was a Japanese individual." Nick said with a grin as Ron seemed to freeze in place. "If my knowledge doesn't fail me it was meant to be a cheap and filling meal before growing into the art it is today." he continued with the same grin as he gave Ron a reality check.- S~ᴇaʀᴄh the Nʘvᴇl(F)ire.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of nøvels early and in the highest quality.

Nick didn't blame the boy for not realizing that other places in the world are just as amazing as the one he lived in. Wizarding communities are heavily out of touch with even the muggle world of their country much less the other places in the world. The greatest example of this was that despite being right next to each other if you were to aske almost any british wizard about the French wizarding community they couldn't give you an answer. This was because the two communities didn't share information beyond their borders in most cases.-

They went to bed in good moods and Nick had normal dreams that night before waking up at dawn. He wasted no time at all going to the workshop and after a quick check turned on the furnace to warm it up. While that was happening he went over to his piles of metal and picked out the same ones he used to create Greed and snapped off a single folded layer of each of them. He then stacked these pieces on top of each other and waited for the furnace to finish warming up before cranking the heat up and switching to dragon fire.-

Nick then tossed all of the metals into the furnace at the same time before ignoring them to prepare two molds. There was far more metal than a normal ring involved in this forging so the molds were equally larger than normal to contain them. This seemingly excessive amount of metal was actually the key that made Greed capable of transforming into things larger than itself such as the case when it turned into one of the twins zombified faces. Once the metals melted under the tyrannical dragon fire Nick removed them using his wand and stirred them together vigorously to ensure they were thoroughly combined.-

He then sent this mixture into the molds and set them aside to cool until solid and enchantable. This didn't take very long , merely fifteen minutes or so during which he did some stretches to limber up his body. Nick cracked open the molds and moved the hideous multicolored and ill textured rings over to the anvil at the same time. A glow erupted from his body for a moment before concentrating on his hands. Raising his hammer Nick channeled his knowledge of bogarts before bringing it down on one of the rings. -

"BANG! HMMM!" The moment he struck the ring it began to hum but that was where the difference between this forging session and his normal ones started. Using the recoil of his first strike Nick also struck the second ring causing both of the rings to hum. He continued to do this until the humming of both of the rings was done in unison like two similar voices singing the same song together. "FWIP! BANG!" On the final strike Nick spoke "TWIN FEARS!" and the two ring for the briefest instant fused as he brought down the hammer before splitting into two rings that looked on different from the ever shifting Greed.
