Chapter 53: Hanging out

Nick hung out with Harry , Tracy and Daphne during the free period until dinner mostly talking about the version of the Lumos charm Nick taught them. "You mean that you have more than just this one version?" Tracy asked in disbelief. Nick shrugged "It's a really simple charm with a whole bunch of possible uses." he said honestly. "Which is your favorite variation so far?" she asked curiously. "At the moment it's blinding flash version , but that's a work in progress as it affects me as well." Nick said honestly. "What does it do?" Daphne asked curiously.-

"Well it creates a super bright flash of light that blinds everyone nearby , unfortunately the caster is included in that number as well. At the moment I'm figuring out how to exclude myself from the effects but it's slow going." Nick explained calmly. "That's sounds irritating , I mean can you image just randomly getting blinded while you are going about your day?" Tracy said with a shiver. Harry laughed "You'll get what I have to go through everyday then , I don't wear these glasses for show you know." he said with a smirk. 'Wow he really does take after his friends rather heavily.' Nick thought seeing Harry act like him a little.-

'Meh , being a little more like me is good for him anyways so it's fine I guess.' Nick shrugged off the slight change easily. "It's a good thing I'm not sharing that version of the spell then isn't it?" Nick asked teasingly. "That's so cruel! How can you tell us about such an awesome thing and then not share it!?" Tracy exclaimed. "Try and make it yourself if you are so interested." Nick said with a scoff. "But you are supposed to be my endless bag of bragging material!" she said acting betrayed.-

Nick snorted "Oi! when did I ever agree to such a thing?" Nick asked acting offended while Harry and Daphne were trying not to laugh from Nick and Tracy's antics , they were failing. "But , but my bragging rights!" Tracy said while making puppy dog eyes at Nick. "Ha! Jokes on you I'm immune!" Nick said with a Laugh. "NOOOOOOOO!" Tracy said in horror. "It's over Tracy I have the high ground!" Nick said imitating a certain space wizard. "NEVER! Quick Daphne seduce him!" "Too much?" Tracy asked sheepishly after seeing the look she was getting. "yep and any hope of me sharing brag worthy spells is now gone." Nick said calmly and Tracy looked heartbroken. "Do my eyes deceive me my good brother?" a familiar voice says from nearby. "Indeed not my fine sibling , two of our housemates enjoying some Slytherin company." another voice that sounded almost identical to the first spoke up. "Fred and George or is it Gred and Forge at the moment?" Nick asked casually while turning to look at the twin redheads.-

"Ooooh , If it isn't our crafty business partner." One of the twins said realizing who was part of the group. "We knew you were a man after our heart the moment we met you , breaking the unspoken rules heh?" the other twin said with a wide grin. The twins plopped down on either side of Nick ""we approve"" they both said at the same time. Nick grinned and wrapped his arms around the twins shoulders "Everyone this is Fred and George , fine purveyors of mischief and fun. Fred and George this is Tracy Davis , Daphne Greengrass and of course you already know my best mate Harry." Nick made introductions jovially.-

""A pleasure"" the twins said at the same time with wide smiles. "So what can i do for you gentle men besides the stink bomb you are trying to stick to me that is of course." Nick said making the twin on his right stiffen before chuckling. "Seems You figured me out huh , what gave me away?" the twin asked curiously. Nick patted him on the shoulder with his hand "I felt your muscles moving ever so slowly." he said with a smirk.-

"Oh? Now that's some sensitive hands you got there mate to pick that up." the twin said impressed. Nick shrugged "I make jewelry , it's part of the job." he said honestly. Being able to pick up the tiniest changes in the metal is an important skill to have for any smith since usually you can't just eye it as the metal is so bright it's bleary. "Are you trying to make us jealous mate , cuz you are." the other twin said enviously. Nick laughed "Don't act like you two aren't talented in your own way now" he said with a bit of praise.
